Pharmacy First in Oldham
See our pharmacist instead of your GP for seven common conditions. Walk in, and we'll see you in our private consultation room.
Conditions we can help with
Age limits are set by the NHS, so we'll check you're eligible when you come in.
- Earache (ages 1 to 17)
- Sore throat (aged 5 and over)
- Sinusitis (aged 12 and over)
- Impetigo (aged 1 and over)
- Infected insect bites (aged 1 and over)
- Shingles (aged 18 and over)
- Urine infections (women aged 16 to 64)
How it works
- Walk in during opening hours, or come in after your GP surgery or NHS 111 refers you.
- Our pharmacist asks about your symptoms in our private consultation room.
- If you need treatment, we can give it to you on the NHS there and then.
- If you need to see a GP, we'll tell you and send them the details.
What it costs
The consultation is free. If you normally pay for prescriptions, the usual NHS prescription charge applies to any medicine we supply. If you get free prescriptions, it's free.
Common questions
Do I need to book?
No. Walk in during opening hours. If the pharmacist is with someone, we'll tell you how long the wait is.
Can I bring my child?
Yes. Several conditions are for children, such as earache for ages 1 to 17. A parent or guardian should come with them.
What if my condition isn't on the list?
Come in anyway. Our pharmacist can still give advice, suggest something from the pharmacy, or tell you where to go.
